Dear Nassau County Neighbor and Friend,

The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has created a Working Group, chaired by BOCC Chairman Danny Leeper, to assess our county’s needs for public transportation.  Nassau’s county-wide public transportation system – literally the actual routes and stops and amenities – in both the near term and long term, is being designed now.

Your organization’s input is absolutely crucial.

You have an extraordinary opportunity now to design our coming public transportation system.  An opportunity to serve your neighbors, customers, employees and constituents.  To expand and improve access for everyone to employment, healthcare, education, government services, human services, worship, shopping, entertainment and recreation.  To reduce congestion on our roads.  To encourage balanced growth and economic development across Nassau and our region.

To enhance our quality of life throughout the years ahead.

A Sub-committee of the Board of County Commissioners Transit Working Group is conducting a series of meetings to receive input that will identify the specific public transportation schedules, routes, stops and facility improvements across the county.  Although each meeting is intended to focus on certain “access needs” for the sake of coordinating the input, your organization is invited to any and all of the meetings.

Please come tell the Sub-committee where you would like to see routes and stops.

Each meeting is from 9:00am to 12:00pm:
